One Step Beyond Cary Masters

Triangle Aquatic Club - One Step Beyond (TAC-OSB) Masters Swimming

A US Masters Swimming Club at the Triangle Aquatic Center in Cary

About the club:
TAC-OSB Masters (OSBC) is a chapter of North Carolina Masters Swimming. We train at the Triangle Aquatic Center in Cary, North Carolina.

Our team members include triathletes, open water swimmers, and pool swimmers looking to improve or maintain their swim performances while training with like-minded individuals in a relaxed, fun setting.

A typical practice is 3,000 yards +/- a bit depending on your ability.

Mondays are distance, Friday mornings are sprint work, and everything else will be variable.

Practice times:
We hold practices at TAC on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings from 6 to 7 AM. In September, 2008 we will be adding evening practices on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday nights from 7:30 to 8:45PM.

The coaches:
Marty Gaal: Our head coach is Marty Gaal, a Cary resident and former distance swimmer at Florida State University. Marty is a member of US Masters Swimming, the American Swim Coaches Association, and is a certified strength and conditioning specialist (NSCA CSCS). Marty is a full-time triathlon & swim coach and co-owns One Step Beyond.

Coach Marty will be on deck to provide feedback and encouragement to those athletes who would like to work on their technique.

Bri Gaal: Our assistant coach is Bri Gaal, a Cary resident and former track and cross-country runner at the University of Central Florida. Bri is a member of US Masters Swimming, is a certified USA Triathlon coach, and is a top age-group triathlete and road racer. Bri co-owns One Step Beyond.

Coach Bri will be on deck to provide feedback and encouragement to those athletes who would like to work on their technique.

Greg Sanchez: We are also joined by Triangle legend and former Tar Heels swimmer Greg Sanchez, a longtime Cary resident and veteran triathlete / open water swimmer.

Coach Greg will be in the water on Wednesday and Friday mornings, leading and motivating the distance group through challenging training sets.

The fees:
