OSB Blue Ridge Mountains Summer Training Camp - Aug 18-24, 2008


Join Ironman legend Jeff Cuddeback (Hawaii record holder in the 35-39, 40-44, and 45-49 age groups) and OSB coaches for a triathlon training camp the week of August 18-24, 2008, in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. One Step Beyond campers will stay at the Lake Logan Episcopal Center in Canton, NC. The Episcopal Center is located on pristine Lake Logan and offers 300 acres of privacy and mountain solitude. Cycling access to the Blue Ridge Parkway is just a couple miles away, and the surrounding state and national parks offer extensive hiking/running trails. Jeff is getting ready to break another record in Hawaii, so come prepared to train!

Asheville and Waynesville are both about twenty minutes drive for those interested in shopping and entertainment. This is going to be a fantastic late summer getaway for the outdoorsy types.

The camp runs Monday afternoon to Sunday afternoon (6 nights). Camp fee includes lodging and three meals per day. Space is limited - maximum 18 total campers (including any non-participating family members at the same rate).

$900 per person based on double occupancy and a minimum of ten people attending (including coaches). We have reserved an eight bedroom house and a 2 bedroom cabin (double occupancy) so this will be a socially friendly camp. The camp fee includes lodging, three meals per day, and access into any additional parks, races, or training venues.

We can accomodate a handful of four-day campers (Thursday-Sunday) at the same daily rate of $150 per day. First come, first serve.

Tentative Itinerary:

Monday - 5pm arrival and dinner

Tuesday - 7AM lake swim. 8AM breakfast. 10AM bike ride. 12:30 pm lunch. 5PM easy run. 6PM Dinner.

Wednesday - 7AM lake swim. 8AM breakfast. 10AM long run. 12:30 pm lunch. 2PM easy ride. 6PM Dinner.

Thursday - 7AM lake swim. 8AM breakfast. 9AM long bike ride. Short run off the bike. 6PM Dinner.

Friday - Easy day. 7AM lake swim. 8AM breakfast. 12:30PM lunch. 2PM easy run. 6PM Dinner.

Saturday - 7AM breakfast. 8AM long bike ride. 12:30PM lunch 5PM optional easy run. 6PM Dinner.

Sunday - 7AM lake swim. 8AM breakfast. 10AM long run. 12:30 pm lunch. Camp ends.
